Edmontons Penalty Kill Continues To Shine

Panthers Fall To Oilers 5-1: Game 7 Set In Stanley Cup Final

Edmonton's Penalty Kill Continues to Shine

The Edmonton Oilers have taken ice hockey's Stanley Cup Final to a deciding game seven thanks to a 5-1 home victory over the Florida Panthers on Friday night. The Oilers thwarted three Panthers power plays and have now killed 46 of their past 47 penalties, including 21 straight at home.

Panthers Struggled to Find Their Rhythm

The Panthers came out playing their brand of hockey, outhitting Edmonton 18-7. However, they were unable to find the back of the net and the Oilers took advantage of their opportunities. Edmonton opened the scoring in the first period and never looked back, adding four more goals in the second and third periods.

The Oilers' victory was a complete team effort. Connor McDavid had a goal and two assists, Leon Draisaitl had a goal and an assist, and Zach Hyman scored twice. Mike Smith made 27 saves in net for the Oilers.

The Panthers will need to regroup quickly for Game 7, which will be played in Edmonton on Sunday night. If Edmonton wins, it would be their second Stanley Cup championship in franchise history.
